About Me Ibiza hair and makeup artist
The brand and first salon came to being in 1969 and now I give my heart and soul to my greatest passion: enhancing people’s beauty through hair and makeup, for weddings, special occasions and editorials on Ibiza and Formentera island
Sandra Serra So pleased to meet you
Hello! I’m Sandra Serra Tur, hair and makeup artist, I was born and raised in the marvellous white Ibiza island. My work is my greatest passion and my goal is to make my brides’ and clients’ individual beauty shine. I also love finding perfect hair and makeup styles for editorials and corporate and fashion shoots.
Fanny My inspiration
I started playing around with curlers at my Mum’s hair salon when I was three. As you can imagine, that’s where I spent most of my time as a kid. My Mum was my biggest inspiration and her hair and makeup salon was one of the first on Ibiza in the 60s. She always gave her all to her clients and kept at the forefront of hairdressing, completing training courses in Madrid and Barcelona. That’s why, even though she may not be with us anymore, my business will always keep her alive with her name, Fanny.
At 17, I moved to Barcelona, where I studied Business Science and Marketing (University of Barcelona), and a Master’s in Marketing and Communications for Fashion (IED). Then, I decided to further develop one of my greatest passions: makeup. I packed up my cases once more and headed to New York to study at Make-Up Designory (MUD). Thanks to fantastic mentors, including Hollywood and Fashion Week makeup artists, I perfected my skills in applying makeup for special events and film and mastered artistic and special effects makeup and airbrushing.
Even while I was developing my professional experience in the world of strategic and operative marketing for brands in the cosmetics sector, I never stopped studying and training. I spent every possible weekend and holidays completing hairdressing courses, including: Pivot Point techniques, Emotional Hairdressing with Claude Juilliard and cutting techniques with Raffel Pagés. I would even fly to Ibiza whenever I could to work at weddings and events with my family’s hair salon. I gradually came to realise that I much preferred being on sets or at events with hairdressers, makeup artists and stylists than with a managing team stuck behind a screen, giving presentations or sending out quotes.
Fanny&Co Back to my roots
In 2011, I decided to go back to Ibiza to slow down, enjoy a more fulfilling life and do what I really love: hairdressing and makeup. I went back to my family and took over my Mum’s hair salon, Peluquería Fanny, which I later named Fanny&Co. In 2020, I left the walk-in salon with a wonderful team and fantastic clients to take the leap and pursue my real passion: bridal and event hair and makeup. I am so grateful to finally discover a place for myself in the world of Hair and Makeup Artistry.
